The hardest part, okay, the only hard part in this is in deciding which of the 120 snaps I took today are successful. My aesthetic principles keep wavering. At present, I'm shooting for abstract expressionism or informel: Would these work as wall-sized paintings? I've started avoiding hints of representation, as deciphering the contents distracts from understanding the composition - like words distract in music. But that's today. Perhaps tomorrow will find me reconciled with the true task of photography: distorting reality. We'll see.
