The fun is over

I broke the Kodak (by dropping it half a metre onto carpet). Now I need to read the Nikon's manual to grasp its somewhat confused user interface that consists of ten buttons, a wheel and a four direction rosette. Out of the box, the above is how it reacts to being shaken at the landscape outside my window. It will not do.
Addendum: Make that one 'mode dial', one 'command dial', one 'multi selector', ten buttons, six of which "have different functions in different modes" and one manual reader with a thirty second attention span...
